Chief AI StrategistEnterprise AI Transformation ExpertAI Keynote Speaker

Twenty five years in media, strategy and leadership. Nine years studying what emerging technology does to human behaviour. Now helping enterprises adopt AI with their eyes open.

Who he is

A strategist who studies the human side of the machine

Dean McCoubrey is Humaine's Chief AI Strategist and an enterprise AI transformation expert from South Africa, working with companies, conferences and publications internationally. His career spans twenty five years across media, strategy and leadership, and for the past nine years he has examined the human consequences of emerging technology, from social media to intelligent agents.

At World Summit AI 2026 in Amsterdam on 7 and 8 October, he appeared as a speaker and moderated mainstage conversations with leaders from Expedia Group and Telnyx on execution, latency, scale and the interpretation of human intention. His name appears on the official summit speaker list (opens in a new tab).

His work with enterprises is practical: where AI agents should act, where people must stay in control, and how governance, economics and workforce change decide whether adoption succeeds.

Human behaviour and education

Nine years studying what technology does to people

Long before enterprise AI, Dean founded MySociaLife, a digital life skills programme that teaches young people, parents and educators to navigate social media and online life safely and wisely. That work in education, which he describes as having received sixteen global award nominations and recognitions, is separate from his enterprise consulting, and it shapes how he thinks about AI: adoption is a human behaviour problem before it is a technology problem.

The same conviction runs through his executive work. Tools do not transform organisations; people do, when they understand what is changing and why.
